Ingredients

  • 1 pint fresh strawberries hulled and sliced
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • 2 tablespoons honey or agave syrup adjust to taste
  • 1 cup cold water or fruit juice for blending

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

  1. Place the sliced strawberries into the blender.
  2. Add the ice cubes on top of the strawberries.
  3. Pour in the honey or agave syrup, balancing sweetness.
  4. Pour in the cold water or fruit juice to help with blending.
  5. Secure the lid and blend on high until all ingredients are smooth and icy, about 30-45 seconds. You'll hear the blades whirring and see the mixture turn vibrant red and frothy.
  6. Stop the blender and check the texture; it should be thick, icy, and well combined. If it's too thick, add a little more liquid and blend briefly.
  7. Pour the slushie into glasses using a pitcher or directly from the blender.
  8. Serve immediately, garnished with extra strawberries or a sprig of mint if desired.
