Ingredients

  • 2 cups chocolate cookie crumbs preferably chocolate sandwich cookies with filling removed
  • 3 cups vanilla pudding prepared and chilled
  • 1 cup whipped cream folded into pudding for extra fluffiness
  • 1 cup gummy worms for layering and decoration
  • optional additional chocolate shavings or sprinkles for topping

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Rubber spatula
  • Serving dish or trifle bowl
  • Plastic bag or food processor
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

  1. Crush the cookies into fine crumbs using a plastic bag and rolling pin or a food processor for an even texture.
  2. Spread a layer of cookie crumbs at the bottom of your serving dish, creating a crunchy base that resembles dirt.
  3. Spoon the chilled vanilla pudding over the cookie crumb layer, smoothing it out with a spatula for an even surface.
  4. Gently fold the whipped cream into the pudding to add lightness and fluffiness, then spread this mixture over the pudding layer.
  5. Press gummy worms into the pudding layer and scatter some on top to peek out like worms crawling through dirt.
  6. Finish by adding a final dusting of cookie crumbs on top, and decorate with additional gummy worms or sprinkles for spooky flair.

Notes

Keep the dessert refrigerated for at least 1 hour before serving to allow the flavors to meld and the layers to set.
