- Juice the limes until you have about half a cup of fresh lime juice.
- Pour the lime juice into the blender along with the tequila, triple sec, and simple syrup if using.
- Add the ice cubes to the blender. Make sure the ice is evenly distributed over the liquid ingredients.
- Secure the lid tightly and blend on high speed until the mixture is smooth, slushy, and icy in texture, about 30-45 seconds.
- Stop the blender and check the consistency—if it’s too thick, add a splash of water or more lime juice and blend briefly to loosen.
- Pour the frozen margarita slushie into chilled glasses. Optionally, rim the glasses with salt or chili powder for extra flair.
- Garnish the drinks with lime wedges or slices if desired. Serve immediately for the best icy texture.
Notes
For a non-alcoholic version, replace the tequila and triple sec with additional lime juice and a splash of orange juice.
