Coffee Slushie

The coffee slushie is a chilled beverage made by blending brewed coffee with ice and sweetener to create a smooth, icy texture. The result is a visually appealing, frosty drink with a rich coffee aroma, featuring a balance of bitter and sweet flavors. It’s served as a refreshing, scoopable slush that retains the vibrant color and robust flavor of freshly brewed coffee.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup brewed coffee, cooled strong preferred
  • 1 cup ice cubes adjust for desired thickness
  • 2 tablespoons simple syrup or sweetener adjust sweetness to taste

Equipment

  • Blender

Method

  1. Measure and pour the cooled brewed coffee into your blender, filling it about halfway.
  2. Add the ice cubes to the blender, distributing them evenly around the coffee.
  3. Pour in the sweetener, starting with two tablespoons, and adjust later if needed.
  4. Secure the lid on the blender and blend on high until the mixture is thick, icy, and smooth, about 30-40 seconds. You should see a uniform, semi-frosted texture.
  5. Check the consistency; if it’s too icy, add a splash of cold brewed coffee or milk and blend briefly again.
  6. Pour the slushie into glasses, enjoying the vibrant dark coffee color and icy aroma.

Notes

For a creamier texture, blend in a splash of milk or cream. Adjust the sweetness or coffee strength based on preference. Serve immediately for the best icy texture.
